Shields High School, Seymour, Indiana.

I was back in my old hometown today and finally had the chance to shoot the former high school.

It was built in 1910 and served as the high school until 1959, when the new school was built. After that it was the junior high and remained so until 1981 when the new middle school was built. It served as the Indiana Bible College for a few years, but was ultimately torn down in 1997.

This is all that's left.

Abandoned Farmhouse, outskirts of Seymour, Indiana.

My friend lived just outside of town with his family. I spent a good deal of time there between my junior and senior years of hs. I met ben in 1999 and he had moved by 2001. He and a couple of other friends just picked up and moved to portland. A year or so after that, the state finally managed to kick the family off of the land. They had been fighting, the state wanted to build a golf course there. The land's been abandoned for over a year, but the state hasn't done anything on it. I stopped by today, not knowing if the house would still be standing next time i had the chance to be out there.
