This dilapidated old homestead with a partial brick frame is situated on a quiet country road about ten miles from our home. I asked the farmer who evidently owns the property if I could go inside and - although preoccupied with rounding up a herd of cows that had strayed across the road - he indicated it would be all right. If he had more time, I sense he would have told me something about the house. As it is, I know nothing, except that it looks as if it was built around 1850.
The back of the house is open to the elements and has clearly been used as an animal shelter. There is a photo of the interior behind the cut, as well as a detail of the front door.
